Was walking back to Tangs from Far East Plaza today when I sensed from the corner of my eye something amiss. And judging from how many people are walking past blindly, ignoring the serenely cool space flanking the walkway through the Scotts Square showflat building, I think I was the not the first to have missed it so completely when I was walking towards FEP earlier on.

The space is called Wheelock Art Gallery and currently, it houses Wonderland by Chua Chye Teck, a project that studies our disposable culture. Essentially they picked up all these discarded items from Salvation Army, cleaned them up and snapped them.

It was a freaking cool wall of 500 or so pictures. I couldn't take any pictures of the gallery nor the exhibition writeup on the wall cos I didn't have my cam and my phone battery was flat. So I was a little annoyed with myself.

Nonetheless, the gallery is such a great idea. And if you go by, do step into the room and peer through the tonnes of pictures. Kitschy, nostalgic, adorable, amusing and all, something on that wall will definitely make you smile.

And I couldn't help but think how cool it would be to have all these items displayed the same way, each in individual pigeon holes in a huge wall-to-wall shelf.
