Ooooh... I'm so with it.

Hot-Blooded Hosiery Adds a Bright Note for Fall

April 10, 2008 – Tights make a comeback every fall, but this season they went way beyond basic black. Katy Rodriguez, like Jasmine Di Milo's Jasmine Al Fayed, accessorized her entire collection with fire-engine red hose. "Red felt stranger, edgier, and fiercer, which was what I was going for," said Rodriguez. Others, like Alessandro Dell'Acqua and Vera Wang, used the eye-popping hue with more moderation, interspersing scarlet with sober shades like brown and gray. Among those going for the full effect, meanwhile: trendsetting model of the moment Agyness Deyn, spotted wearing red tights earlier this week on the streets of London.

Wow, I'm like, so ahead of the curve on this one!

Ha. I kid.

Seriously though, I find it a tad ridiculous that this is "trendsetting". Red tights have been around forever and there have been plenty all over fashion blogs and street style sites.

If there's anyone who can be credited for this, it may be retailers such as Topshop (I bought mine from them, what, more than a year ago?) who have been launching waves and waves of bright colours ever since tights made its presence prominent in a "fashionable" sense. Certainly not the Fall 08 runways.
