How's this for online shopping?

This is really, really amazing. You have to visit his site and check out all the marvellous things he has for sale. Like this:

If you give me $250 I will read the Little Prince in front of the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street in the middle of a work day. I will send you photograph documentation of this. (or: if you give me $1000 I will buy as many copies of the Little Prince as I can and give them away to people leaving the New York Stock Exchange after a days work)

Or this:

If you give me $10 I will take a photograph of the sky just for you. That means I will go outside, shoot a photograph of the sky, print it as a 8.5" x 11" full color laser jet print, write the date on it, fold it into an envelope, and mail it to you. Oh, and I will also delete the file so that you will have the only existing copy of that photograph. It's just for you.

And how about this? I'd love to see the looks on these recipients' faces. I imagine them grinning from ear to ear while holding on to their envelopes.

If you give me $3 I will send you an empty envelope. It is like sending you nothing. Or at least, it is sending you something that has traveled a journey that is the distance from me to you.

  • Jenn Wong has an empty envelope mailed from New York to New York.
  • Philip Hucknall has an empty envelope mailed from New York to Glasgow.
  • Gold Joinee Abad has an empty envelope mailed from New York to Madrid.
  • Chad Cheney has an empty envelope mailed from New York to Battle Ground, WA.
  • Simon Gibson has two empty envelopes mailed from New York to the United Kingdom.
Read it, it's delightful and bound to put a smile on your face. And do let me know if you end up purchasing something.
