Beautiful shoes bring you places. One should always get the best one can afford. Expensive shoes are not always beautiful, but the most gorgeous shoes almost always cost more than what your rational mind can accept.
Cheap-looking (I'm talking cheap-looking regardless of cost, and not cheap in a costing very little sense) shoes are an eyesore and bring you nowhere other than perhaps the nearest pharmacy for plasters. They, too, often cost more than what the rational mind can accept. $50 for a shapeless, lining-less something made of cheap-looking, thin PVC, with cheap-looking unsexy heels, and that gives you blisters, is $50 better spent if tossed into the drain.
