Across the Universe

Only just watched it. It's quite marvellous, the way it has incorporated 30+ songs from the Beatles into one coherent plot that is a mish mash of characters and their own stories. And as all successful web of stories are, there is a central thread holding everything together, the tale of love between Jude and Lucy.


But the movie is fantastic not because of its storyline, which has been said and done over and over. It's how well the story was told, and through a visual and aural spectacular, no less.

I'm no big Beatles fan, but this show really won me over and breathed life I was never sensitive to into the music.

This is one of my favourite segments. Because Strawberry Fields Forever is probably my favourite Beatles song. And I really like the bleeding canvas of strawberries as well as the strawberry logo painting.
