Lawyer's birthday falls on National Day. We celebrated with a Macs party this year and she invited kids of people from work so we'd have some reps of the right age present.

She bought cupcakes from Da Paolo Gastronomia for everyone. The National Day ones were really cute, but tasted nothing special. I was right about the deli's cupcakes all along, even though I never bothered to try. They just never looked tasty. I like being right about things.

I'd say give me Marmalade Pantry's any day, if not for the fact that they now cost something like $4.20 apiece. I think I'll just stop eating cupcakes.

I finished the National Day cupcake anyway, cos they were pretty and cos I don't like to waste food. Lots of guests took a couple of bites before leaving theirs on the (tiny) tables to be thrown away. After everyone left, I glanced back at them. They looked really forlorn and moody.

I think it was rude that they did not finish eating them.
