Generation Gap

A conversation amongst a 19-year-old, 26-year-old and 30-year-old.

30yo: Yah, my boyfriend calls me every night, no matter how late it is, to report that he's home.

19yo: Really? My boyfriend never does that leh.

30yo: No, you must train from young and make him form that habit.

19yo: But why?

30yo: I do it because I like knowing he's safe, cos sometimes he's out late and I won't know if something happened to him. And it's just to catch up and talk, cos we don't see each other everyday what.

26yo: You mean you don't call each other? Don't you guys talk to each other?

19yo: Yah, on MSN lor! No need to call what.

30yo & 26yo: (Looks at each other.) Generation gap, generation gap.

No matter how young you are at heart and how you imagine yourself to still be able to connect with them, young people have that unique ability to make you feel ancient sometimes.
