My camera has arrived! Taking pictures with the Holga is a strange and very fun experience. The machine is essentially a block of plastic that feels like a toy you played with as a kid when you pretended to take pictures. I have to remember things like removing the lens cap and turning the film advance knob.
You get to hear cute sounds the camera makes. Like the click-click-click when you turn the advance film wheel, or the terk when you press the shutter release.
There is a great sense of anticipation and experimentation. For the first time in a really long time, I have to use a viewfinder to compose a shot. Pressing your nose to a camera, framing what you want to capture, clicking the button, and then wiping the shiny print of your nose from the camera while hoping for the best for that shot...
Quite cool. Can't wait to take more pictures tomorrow.
