I like colour even though I always buy black

There is also a red and a black pair but I couldn't find a proper group shot and settled for filching the above from Susie Bubble.

So anyway. Since I first saw pictures of this UK limited edition patent series, I've been idly fantasising about these Dr. Martens, randomly asking myself, "Can I get away with patent pink boots?"

I'm not sure what the answer is. I might be able to because of the rugged shape, but it might prove too chunky for me, ending up like the red Adidas sneakers I never wear.

It may be disastrous because of the somewhere-along-the-calf height, not at all good for non-modelly legs. As if my legs are not short enough for my height, do I really want to visually stunt them further?

So the non-conclusion is that I do not know. I probably should have gone to Front Row when they launched them mid-March, just to give it a try and know for sure. In any case, they were $159, I think, and I probably would have ended up with black patent if it went well. (I am currently still fuelled by my months-long black shoe and bag obsession.)

It's been 1.5 months and I do not know if the boots have flown out of Front Row yet. But these boots are not something I must must must have, so I guess I might swing by for a look someday and leave it all to fate.
