Lars and the Real Girl. This looks brilliant.
Also, Taxidermia.
Synopsis from Cathay:
Three stories. Three ages. Three men. Grandfather, father, son. One is an orderly, one is a leading sportsman, and one is a master taxidermist. One desires love, the other success, and the third immortality. The dim grandfather, an orderly during World War Two, lives in his bizarre fantasies; he desires love. The huge father seeks success as a top athlete -- a speedeater -- in the postwar pro-Soviet era. The grandson, a meek, small-boned taxidermist, yearns for something greater: immortality. He wants to create the most perfect work of art of all time by stuffing his own torso. Surrealism and historical facts are mixed to create a kind of 'fairy realism' and we witness history as seen through the eyes of three generations of a Hungarian family...
This, is going to be a really strange ride.
And then, there is 死神の精度 or Sweet Rain or Accuracy of Death, as it is known here.
Two words. Takeshi Kaneshiro.
He looks so good cleaned up I wish he'd stop running around looking like he doesn't wash his hair. Greasy locks is just... greasy, even when it's Kaneshiro.
And of course, of course.
Sex and the City, finally.
Taxidermia 24 Apr, Kaneshiro 15 May, SATC 29 May.
Lars and the Real Girl was officially released 27 Oct last year. Was it ever shown here? I'll have to hunt the DVD down.
