A remarkable expose of Carine Roitfeld, editor of French Vogue in New York Mag. I like her, because she is so beautiful in a non-classic sense and because she is so quintessentially fashion, whether in her style or in her attitude.

The fashion industry has many types. There are people like her and then there are people who aspire to be like her, trying on quirks for size. When it works, you can be amused by them and often, have a laugh with them. When it doesn't, you just want to laugh at them.

But anyway. When it comes to personality features, fashion insiders always tend to be portrayed as slightly off centre with a bundle of endearing quirks, that, on a normal person, would simply be absurd or irritating. It's like a formula that makes me chortle in delight and grin at the monitor as I scroll through the pages. And then I wonder what the person is really like.

Ah well. This is a great read on an iconic woman, nonetheless.
