The friend wants to be known as something other than the friend, because the friend sounds... I don't know, impersonal? It leaves room for doubt and she has to think if I'm talking about her?
The other friend (who has yet to be mentioned on the blog, I shall add) also asked why the friend is known as the friend, because that would make her, what, the other friend? And she does not want to be known as the other friend because it's not just impersonal and hard to identify, it makes her sound like some third unimportant friend.
And we haven't even gotten to the other friends that have yet to surface on the blog.
(Why am I in this situation...?)
Well. To explain myself, the term 'the friend' was coined for convenience, and it's like how I refer to the mother, the brother or the boss, except it happens that I only have one of each of those.
So I guess I have to come up with new names.
Except that I really can't think of anything right now. Other than maybe 'the funny girl'. Ha.
