I do.
I know people who'd rather die than to wear mismatched hardware. So if the belt buckle is silver, everything of the rest of the outfit, from rivets on the shoes to zippers on the bag, all of it must be silver too.
I'm not that anal about keeping my metals apart but one thing's for sure, if I mix them, I'd be sure to do it deliberately and not let it look accidental.
For instance, I might wear my belt studded with silver together with Jack Purcells with silver eyelets, a black leather cuff silver studded again, along with a burnished metal chain bracelet. To this silver/metallic grey mix, I'd throw in a gold chain that's sufficiently thick so the gold colour is apparent, along with a bag with gold hardware.
To wear everything silver only to use a bag with gold hardware feels so wrong I'll be uncomfortable once I step out of the house. Heck, I'd already be uncomfortable looking at the mirror.
So I tend to like to do the mix, because it's more fun that way. Besides, it's either that or I have to amass gold and silver hardware versions of everything!
