Catching up

It's been a while but finally we were all gathered round a table together again. It was one of those hilarious catching up sessions where you also dabbed your feet a little into the pool of shared memories. Not too much, just enough to remember how we were all pulled together into the same chain of being. Many are accumulated in a lifetime, but not all remain important or usable. At this point, it's just great that while we have pretty much all gone separate ways, we have also sort of remained on the same page.

It was one of those nights that could have gone on forever, if not for practicalities like, oh, a cafe that needs to close, perhaps, thereby robbing us of our comfortable seats.

It was also one of those times when I could sit back and take stock and be glad that everyone has moved on to better things. The fashion kingdom ruler has a successful shop, the baby girl and the ladies' boy are both seeking out greener pastures and no longer deeply rooted in shitholes, the OCDed one is getting married and thinking about her future beyond this current place, and I will be starting out in a new environment really soon.

We're the same as before but we're different now. And it's all good. Like that moment in Little Miss Sunshine. Riding together in the yellow caravan towards something out there.
